Biodynamic Massage Therapy and Biodynamic Body Psychotherapy
These holistic and integrative therapies recognise the essential unity of body, mind, emotion and spirit.
For this reason we work with body, mind, emotion and spirit to help you resolve your difficulties.
Biodynamic Theory
Our life has natural rhythms and cycles which need to be honoured if we are to feel well and be healthy.
Some of these may be obvious to us - waking and sleeping, working and resting, breathing in and out.
When we follow our own rhythms we enjoy life and feel well, but if our natural cycles are disturbed or interrupted we begin to accumulate stress. This can be imposed on us by our environment, or we can choose to "close down" some of our activity in order to survive. Situations where this may happen include loss (bereavement/divorce/surgery), abuse (physical/emotional/sexual), abandonment (inadequate parenting, adoption), harsh upbringing (home/school/religion/culture), trauma (injury/accident/threat to life).
Every cycle we do not complete leaves us with "unfinished business", and we find it ever more difficult to reach the point of true rest. No wonder we feel sometimes feel exhausted before we even begin the day, and unrelieved chronic stress is known to be a risk factor for Mental Health problems.

The good news is that there is help at hand, in the form of Biodynamic Therapy.
Biodynamic Therapy
Biodynamic Massage Therapy offers relief from the physical and mental effects of stress, supporting a return to your natural rhythms by promoting relaxation, fuller breathing, healthy muscle tone, efficient digestion and detoxification, etc.
A unique feature of Biodynamic Massage is its attention to the activation of the gut (peristalsis), which digests and eliminates the by-products of stress from our bodies. This naturally leads to an experience of increased wellbeing in body and mind. Read more about how massage can improve Mental Health here
Biodynamic Body Psychotherapy can support you in exploring and unravelling the complex web of factors which are causing you stress and discomfort, and together we can create space in which you can become more at ease with yourself. As a result you can reclaim your birthright - the right to live the life which is uniquely yours. Read more about why it is important to explore and understand your feelings here
I can advise which course of therapy may be more appropriate for you during your initial consultation.
Biodynamic Massage Therapy and Biodynamic Body Psychotherapy were developed by Norwegian-born psychologist and physiotherapist Gerda Boyesen (1922-2005).
"Bio-dynamic" means "life-movement" or "vital-energy" - the aliveness uniting body, mind and spirit.
Biodynamic therapy enables you to reawaken to your natural vitality, health and wellbeing.
